About Alec

Digital Growth Manager

Problem Focused, Hypothesis Driven, Outcome Oriented

Hi, I'm Alec.

I grew up in Columbus, Ohio and currently split time between Utah, Michigan, and Columbus.

I attended grade and high school at Columbus Academy and graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.

I've worked at General Motors since 2019 in several different capacities, and am currently GM's OnStar Sales org as Digital Revenue Lead, responsible for ensuring product-market fit for our digital offerings.

I love developing novel solutions, and have been awarded 9 patents and 25 defensive publications for my inventions.

Through my work I hope to to make the world a safer, fairer, more equitable and sustainable place.

I'm eager to connect with you digitally, or in-person if possible.

Thanks for visiting my site!

How I approach my work

What do car dealerships and delivery companies have in common?

I didn't know anything about either before launching successful products to address their pain points.

Here are some guiding principles in my work:
  • assume I'm not the expert
  • "Draw the Owl" (Google it--I think it's really powerful)
  • what a customer says & does often aren't the same
  • process ≠ outcome
  • be problem-centered & hypothesis driven
  • be your own biggest critic; why wouldn't this work?
  • say "thank you" as much as possible.
Here are some resources I frequently leverage:
  • SAFe Scaled Agile
  • Business Model Canvas
  • Value Proposition Canvas
  • Test and Learn Cards

I'd be eager to share some additional resources and other best practices, so please feel free to reach out for more!
